In a move that has set the Kerala film circuit abuzz, the upcoming Asif Ali‑Jis Joy collaboration, titled Kottayam Belt, has secured its theatrical distribution rights in the state through the well‑known distributor IMP Films. The partnership follows the director‑actor duo’s successful past ventures and promises a high‑stakes family thriller that is expected to open in theatres in the coming months.
"Kottayam Belt" revolves around the lives of four brothers who find themselves embroiled in a series of tense, conflict‑laden situations. The narrative is crafted to feel grounded in everyday realities, offering a blend of engaging family drama and pulse‑racing thriller elements. The story is penned by screenwriter Suresh Gopalan, with cinematography by Binendra Menon and a soundtrack composed by Govind Vasantha.
The film boasts an extensive ensemble cast that includes Asif Ali, Shruthi Ramachandran, Alencier, Vijayaraghavan, Jagadish, Ashokan, Shine Tom Chacko, Bobby Kurian, Vishnu Agasthya, Sreekanth Murali, Prem Prakash, Vineeth, Jinu Joseph, Chembil Ashokan, Renjith Shekhar, Sharanya Ramachandran, Sandra Chandran, Ayka Dev, Nithin Prasanna, Jaya Shankar, Jeo Baby, Renji Panicker, Renjith Velayudhan, Vijay Sathya (Pasupathy), Mahendra and VTM Charlie.
