The engagement was first hinted at on July 12, when Ida posted a video of Krish’s proposal, showing the engagement ring in a candid clip. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Imtiaz described the event as “the greatest happiness for me,” adding that Krish had approached him for a conversation before proposing to his daughter. The 24‑year‑old quantitative researcher at a hedge fund and Ida, who is an aspiring filmmaker, have been together for several years and share a passion for travel.
Ida’s filmmaking journey began early; she directed her first short film, “Lift,” at 17 and later studied at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in California. Her work includes the shorts “Maya” and “Uljhe Hue,” the latter written for Amazon miniTV, as well as collaborations with Kareema Barry on projects like “On a Whim” and “Gul.” Together, Ida and Krish run a Hindi‑film‑focused podcast and have launched their own production company, Blue Curtain Films.
