Cinema VinesActor Ashok Selvan has officially pushed the release of his upcoming Tamil action‑drama “Anbil Avan” by one week, moving the debut from September 25 to October 2, 2026. The announcement came via a post on X on September 22, in which Selvan explained that the delay was made to allow a wider theatrical rollout across territories.
“Anbil Avan” stars Selvan alongside Preity Mukhundhan in the lead roles, with a supporting cast that includes Sabumon Abdusamad, Kadirbalu and Maha Delhi Ganesh. The film is directed by R Kaarthikeyan and features music by Govind Vasantha, cinematography by Gowtham Rajendran, editing by Selva RK, and action choreography by Peter Hein. The screenplay is credited to Vignesh Raja, with contributions from Raja, K Kaarthikeyan and Selvan, while AshaMeera Aiyappan added to the script.
The story follows Suriya and Iyal, a couple who relocate to a quiet hill town seeking a fresh start. Their attempt to begin anew takes a darker turn when they become entangled in a dangerous situation that threatens their relationship and future. Production was overseen by producers K. Karunamoorthy, Ashok Selvan and Abinaya Selvam, with art direction by Manikandan Srinivasan, costume design by Binita Ramanathan, sound design by Vijay Rathinam MPSE, and audiography by A.M. Rahmathulla.
With the new October 2 release, fans are encouraged to visit theatres worldwide to witness the film’s action, romance and dramatic twists. The change, announced just days before the original date, aims to broaden the film’s reach and ensure a more extensive audience experience.
