In a recent interview with the Zoom platform, the 31‑year‑old called the online trolling of postpartum bodies “absolutely illiterate” and urged society to stop judging women for the natural changes that come with motherhood.
During the conversation, Chopra highlighted how society quickly labels physical changes: a toned abdomen is seen as a result of gym work, a tan as a beach holiday, but a stretch mark is automatically tied to pregnancy. She questioned the double standard, noting that men who take on “messy” roles after marriage rarely face the same criticism. “I look at my stretch marks like, ‘Oh my God, you know why I have the stretch marks? I made a baby.’ I find it so beautiful,” she said, calling the negative reactions “bizarre” and “illiterate.”
Chopra also referenced the recent body‑shaming of fellow actress Katrina Kaif, who was criticized on social media for post‑pregnancy weight gain after attending a Ganesh Chaturthi celebration. The series marks Chopra’s first major project after becoming a mother and is expected to premiere later this year.
