This marks the fourth time the event has returned to the UAE, following previous showcases that have drawn significant attention from the film community and audiences alike.
A landmark development for the ceremony is its global live streaming on YouTube, the first time the awards will be broadcast worldwide through the popular video platform. The partnership with YouTube will also provide a range of digital content, including behind‑the‑scenes footage, creator‑led segments, and celebrity conversations, extending IIFA’s digital footprint before and after the main event.
Andre Timmins, Founder and Director of IIFA Weekend & Awards, emphasized the growing ambition of the organization: “Every new chapter of IIFA has been driven by one ambition, to take the magic, emotion and extraordinary power of Indian cinema to the world. In 2027, that ambition becomes bigger than ever.” He added that returning to Abu Dhabi is “incredibly special” and that the 2027 edition aims to raise the bar with bigger stars, enhanced experiences, deeper fan engagement, and a celebration that reaches far beyond the arena.
The event’s partners for 2027 include Sobha Realty, YouTube, and ZEE. Together they are working to combine the live awards ceremony with a robust digital strategy, ensuring that the global audience can experience the glamour and excitement of Indian cinema in real time.
Tickets for the 27th IIFA Weekend & Awards are currently on sale, and the ceremony is expected to attract a diverse international crowd, further cementing Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a key destination for global entertainment events.
