On the day of the Ganesh festival, Govinda was photographed entering the pandal accompanied by actress Komal Rani Swarnkar, while his wife Sunita Ahuja had arrived alone earlier that morning. The sight of the couple together, amid rumours of a romantic link between Govinda and Komal, ignited a flurry of gossip and prompted reactions from several industry figures.
Veteran actor Anupam Kher weighed in on the situation, telling reporters that while he admires Govinda’s talent, he urges the actor not to let his personal life or alleged “habits” eclipse his professional commitments. Speaking to Faridoon Shahryar, Kher said, “I am very fond of Govinda. I think he is one of the finest actors that I have worked with. I have done 10‑12 films with him. Improvisation, acting, dance – no one can compete with him. But you should not allow your personal life or your habits to shadow your entire life.” He added that Govinda has been “bogged down by his surroundings” but remains hopeful that the actor can rebound. Kher concluded, “I pray that he bounces back and does much more work than he is doing.”

Posting a photo with a cryptic caption, she urged people to stop “glorifying home‑breakers” and “idolising men who leave their devoted wives for younger, ambitious girls.” Though she did not name Govinda directly, many readers inferred that she was supporting his wife Sunita, whose own response to the incident was equally blunt.
Sunita Ahuja, when questioned by paparazzi, spoke sharply about human nature, saying, “Insaano ko jitna bhi pyaar do faida nahi hai, dhoka hi dete hai. Inko (pets) pyaar karo hamesha chipke rehte hai. Winter mujhe hamesha chhodhne aata hai. Insaano se achche toh janwar hote hai.” In translation, she warned that “no matter how much love you give humans, it is useless; they betray you. Love animals, they always cling to you. My dog always comes to drop me. Animals are better than humans.” She further added, “Janwaron se pyaar karo, insaano se nahi. Dhokebaaz hote hai insaan.”
