Prime Video has confirmed the return of its reality series Alliance for a second season, slated to premiere on January 14, 2027. The new season will be streamed exclusively on the platform, with actor‑turned‑host Kunal Kemmu returning to guide viewers through the drama. The show, an Indian adaptation of the Dutch format created by John de Mol and produced by Banijay Asia, first aired with 16 celebrity contestants—referred to as Allies—who battled in a mix of physical and mental challenges while forming and breaking alliances in a constantly shifting landscape.
Season 1 marked Prime Video’s inaugural daily reality series on a global scale, with fresh episodes dropping every day at noon. According to Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals for Prime Video India, the strong response from viewers validated the network’s belief that Indian audiences are ready for a smarter, strategy‑driven reality format. He noted that the first season not only attracted an audience but also cultivated a community deeply invested in every move, alliance, and twist. “The love that season 1 got inspired us to ensure we don’t make them wait one full year,” Madhok said, highlighting the decision to bring the show back sooner.
Madhok also previewed that the upcoming season will feature higher stakes, sharper gameplay, more drama, and an evolved “System” designed to test the Allies in unprecedented ways. He emphasized that the continued partnership with Banijay Asia will allow the show to push the boundaries of the format further, solidifying Alliance as a defining title in India’s unscripted landscape.
Deepak Dhar, Founder and Group CEO of Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, echoed this sentiment, stating that the core of the format lies in the tension between changing rules and players’ strategic responses. “For Season 2, we’ve gone back to that core and found new ways to test the Allies, not just through the challenges, but through the choices they make and the relationships they build,” he said, expressing excitement about pushing the game to a new level.
Group Chief Development Officer for Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, Mrinalini Jain, confirmed that Kunal Kemmu will reprise his role as host. She highlighted the unique energy of Alliance and the challenge of re‑introducing a format that has already captivated audiences.
