Cinema VinesAfter the resounding success of his film Awarapan 2, Emraan Hashmi has entered a new phase of popularity, and his upcoming project Gunmaaster G9 is already generating significant trade buzz ahead of its scheduled theatrical release on November 27, 2026. The film’s teaser, dropped in August, has amassed more than 22 million views on YouTube, while the first single, “Afsaana Banaaya Aapne,” which reunites Hashmi with composer Himesh Reshammiya after nearly twenty years, has crossed 43 million views and remains a staple on India’s trending music charts.
These impressive numbers have attracted the attention of exhibitors and studios across the country. In a competitive bidding war, PEN Marudhar emerged victorious, securing the all‑India theatrical distribution rights for the film. The company’s chief, Jayantilal Gada, expressed enthusiasm about the project, noting that the combination of action, romance, and music, along with the star power of Hashmi, director Aditya Datt, and Reshammiya, makes the movie a “theatrical entertainer” with “scale and entertainment value” that should resonate with audiences nationwide.
Gunmaaster G9 stars Emraan Hashmi alongside Genelia D’Souza, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Singh. Production is led by Deepak Mukut, Hunar Mukut, and Sangeeta Ahir, with Soham Rockstar Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. presenting the film. The project is a joint production with SRE Studio LLP and is slated for a worldwide release on November 27, 2026.
With the teaser’s rapid accumulation of views and the single’s viral success, the film has already built a strong pre‑release foundation. The collaboration between Hashmi, Reshammiya, and director Aditya Datt—who first worked together in 2005—adds an element of nostalgia that has been praised by netizens, who have described the track as a “nostalgic throwback.” As the distribution rights have been secured, PEN Marudhar is poised to bring this high‑stakes action romance to screens across India, following the momentum generated by Awarapan 2.
