Cinema VinesIn a historic turn of events, the eighth season of Bigg Boss Malayalam delivered its first mass eviction, sending six contestants out of the main house in a single night. The unprecedented elimination unfolded during the weekend episode, catching the remaining housemates off guard as the scale of the decision became apparent.
Contestants Rakesh Jacob, Loletta Loryne Rodrigues, Sumesh Chandran, Gayathri Suresh, Jaseela Parveen, and Sreelakshmi Arackal were all evicted from the house. The eviction was triggered by a freeze task, where participants had to remain motionless when their names were called. The task turned into a shock announcement when Rakesh, a dancer who joined the show as a commoner selected through Bigg Boss Agnipareeksha, was informed that his stay in the main house had ended. After a brief farewell dance with his fellow housemates, he was escorted out. The freeze task continued, and Loletta was next declared evicted, marking the end of her journey as another commoner chosen through Agnipareeksha.
Other housemates also faced the exit door. Sumesh Chandran and Sreelakshmi Arackal, both original contestants who entered on the premiere day, were removed from the main house. Gayathri Suresh, who had previously been evicted on the second day and later returned, was also sent home. Jaseela Parveen, who had held the title of the first house leader, joined the list of those eliminated.
The episode also introduced a twist: Mridula Vijai and RJ Anjali, who were announced as evicted, were not sent out of the competition in the conventional way. Instead, they were relocated to a secret room, leaving their future moves in the game uncertain and adding another layer of intrigue to the season.
Season 8 premiered on September 6, 2026, with Mohanlal returning as host. The season has been notable for featuring commoner contestants selected through the pre‑show Bigg Boss Agnipareeksha, including Rakesh, Loletta, Eldho George, and Shijin S, with Shibina and Tashi entering later as wildcard commoners. With six contestants gone from the main house and two more moved to the secret room, the composition of Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 has shifted dramatically, setting the stage for the next phase of the competition.
