A blaze erupted Monday night at Film City in Mumbai, sending shockwaves through the local television industry. Video footage of the fire quickly spread across social media, sparking concerns about the safety of crews working on the premises. The flames reportedly ignited near the sets of the comedy‑drama Pati Patni Aur Panga and the reality competition MTV Hustle 5.
Sources from the Pati Patni Aur Panga production confirmed that the fire broke out outside the shooting area and that no filming was underway at the time. “There was a fire outside the sets. There is no casualty. Nobody was shooting at the set of Pati Patni Aur Panga,” a representative told Hindustan Times. The team added that the blaze did not affect any of the cast or crew.
In contrast, the MTV Hustle 5 crew was in the midst of shooting the grand finale when the incident occurred. The show’s team assured reporters that all artists were present on set and that no one was injured. “All the artists were there. The fire happened suddenly. As of now, there are no casualties and everyone is safe,” the production said. Participants such as Badshah, EPR, MC Square, Paradox and Agsy were among those on set.
The fire also coincided with a paparazzi session featuring singer Nikita Gandhi. A source from the Hustle team confirmed that her photo‑op was underway at the time of the blaze, adding another layer of media attention to the incident.
Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire. Following the incident, the MTV Hustle 5 team ordered everyone to evacuate the sets. “As soon as this happened, everybody left the sets for now. We also don’t know as of yet what was the cause behind the fire, but good thing, that everyone is safe,” the team said.
