Malayalam action thriller Khalifa has moved from the silver screen to the digital realm, with its streaming debut set for October 9, 2026. The film, which opened in theatres on August 20 during the Onam weekend, will now be accessible on Prime Video, ManoramaMAX, Lionsgate Play and AhaVideo, while international audiences can watch it on SimplySouth (outside India) and Starzplay in the MENA region. Viewers will be able to enjoy the movie in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi, with platform availability varying by location.
Directed by Vysakh and written by Jinu V. Abraham, Khalifa stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in the title role and marks the Malayalam debut of Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh. The story follows Mambarakal Aamir Ali, a young shopkeeper from Koduvally, Kozhikode, whose life takes a dramatic turn when he becomes entangled in a gold‑smuggling ring. Aamir’s journey from a modest textile shop owner to a key player in illegal trade is shaped by family ties—his grandfather, known as Baba, once ran the same business—and by his growing responsibilities to those under his command.
In addition to Prithviraj and Neil Nitin Mukesh, the cast includes Malvika Sharma, Shammi Thilakan and Indrans, with cameo appearances by Mohanlal, Tovino Thomas and Soubin Shahir. The film’s technical crew boasts Jomon T. John as director of photography, Chaman Chacko as editor, and music composed by Jakes Bejoy. Action sequences were choreographed by Yannick Ben, Chethan D'Souza and Phoenix Prabhu, while production design was handled by Mohandas and makeup by Amal Chandran. Sync Cinema provided the sound design, with final mix by M. R. Rajakrishnan.
The production was overseen by Jinu Abraham Innovation, with co‑producers Suraj Kumar, Sijo Sebastian and Sreelal Soolapani. The story’s script, penned by Jinu V. Abraham, was brought to life under Vysakh’s direction, creating a tense narrative that explores loyalty, ambition and the personal costs of crime.
With its theatrical run concluding just two months before its digital release, Khalifa offers fans a fresh opportunity to revisit the gripping tale of a man caught between family legacy and the perilous world of smuggling. Streaming will begin on October 9, giving audiences worldwide access to this high‑stakes thriller across multiple platforms and languages.
