Neil Bhoopalam eyes Rajkumar Hirani for a family‑friendly film; wants a UA/U shift

Neil Bhoopalam, known for his versatile work across film, television and web series, is currently turning heads with his portrayal of Lala Hardayal in the political drama The Revolutionaries. While he continues to take on diverse roles, the actor has revealed a clear ambition: he wants to collaborate with acclaimed director Rajkumar Hirani on a family‑friendly project.

During an interview, Bhoopalam explained that a second collaboration with a director often feels more comfortable because both parties understand each other’s style better. “The second time around is always better,” he said, adding that he would be open to working again with any filmmaker he has previously teamed up with.

When asked about a filmmaker he would like to work with in his lifetime, the actor singled out Hirani. “The one director that I wish to work with in my lifetime is Mr Rajkumar Hirani,” he said. He praised Hirani’s ability to blend humour into a narrative that appeals to families while still delivering meaningful messages.

Bhoopalam noted that most of his recent work has been aimed at mature audiences and that a shift to a UA or U‑certificate film would be a welcome change. “Doing a UA or U‑certificate project would be a good shift for me,” he added, highlighting his desire to reach a wider family audience.

In short, Neil Bhoopalam is eager to bring his talent to a different kind of project, hoping that a partnership with Rajkumar Hirani could offer both a fresh creative challenge and a broader audience reach.
