Varun Dhawan lands investor role at Better Nutrition; farming sparks new health venture

Indian film star Varun Dhawan has stepped beyond the silver screen and into the fields of agriculture and nutrition, announcing on October 7 that he will serve as an investor and brand ambassador for the nutrition‑focused company Better Nutrition. Dhawan revealed the partnership in a new Instagram reel, explaining that his growing interest in farming had led him to consider the broader role that nutrition could play in sustainable food production.

The actor first began documenting his farming adventures in August, when he posted that he had purchased a farm and called it the biggest achievement of his life. By early September, Dhawan was sharing images of paddy fields and confirming that the farming project was underway. As he faced challenges on the farm, he began conversations with local farmers about soil health and crop nutrition, raising concerns about essential nutrients such as zinc and magnesium and questioning the use of chemicals in agriculture.

It was during this period that Better Nutrition founders Prateek Rastogi and Aishwarya Bhatnagar reached out to Dhawan after following his posts. The actor said the interaction inspired him to take the farm project further and to become an integral part of the brand, stating, “So… turns out farming was only the beginning. I realised nutrition could be a bigger part of the journey. After Prateek and Aishwarya at Better Nutrition reached out, I was inspired to take this farm on its own journey, as well as become an integral part of the brand itself to provide India BETTER NUTRITION.”

Rastogi confirmed the partnership on LinkedIn, writing, “Couldn’t have asked for a better partner to join Better Nutrition. Happy to share that THE Varun Dhawan has joined us as an investor and brand ambassador. Nothing can stop us now to make India a healthier nation.” Better Nutrition, co‑founded by Rastogi and Bhatnagar, specializes in bio‑fortified staples and previously appeared on Season 4 of “Shark Tank India,” where it pitched its product line in February 2025.

Dhawan’s new role aligns with his growing advocacy for sustainable farming and nutrition, positioning him as a public face for a company that aims to enhance the nutritional value of staple foods across India. The partnership marks a significant step for both the actor and the brand as they work together to promote healthier eating habits and support local farmers.
