Abhishek Banerjee and Divyenndu are set to reunite for a new Amazon Prime Video drama, marking another collaboration between the two actors after their memorable partnership in the Mirzapur franchise. The duo, who first captured audiences as Compounder and Munna Bhaiya, will now appear together in an ‘Empire’-style series being developed by Endemol for Prime Video.
While details about the plot, setting, and the characters the pair will portray remain tightly under wraps, the makers have hinted that the new show will take the actors away from the gangster drama that defined their Mirzapur roles. Instead, the series is expected to present them in a different environment, with a larger‑scale world and a storyline that explores a fresh side of both performers.
Abhishek Banerjee is slated to headline the project, with Divyenndu also playing a key role. The reunion follows their recent on‑screen reunion in Mirzapur: The Movie, which has already sparked interest among fans who recognize the duo’s chemistry from the popular streaming franchise.
In addition to the Prime Video series, Banerjee has a busy slate of projects across languages and genres. He is set to make his Tamil debut in a Netflix show featuring R. Madhavan, Nimisha Sajayan and Gulshan Devaiah, and will also star in an action drama opposite Tiger Shroff under the direction of Remo D’Souza. A psychological thriller with TVF is also in the pipeline for the actor.
Divyenndu, meanwhile, is preparing to lead a period film before moving on to Madgaon Express 2, which will be directed by Kunal Kemmu. The upcoming Amazon Prime drama will bring the two actors together once more, but with a narrative that steers clear of the gangster‑world dynamics that defined their Mirzapur characters.
As of now, the makers have kept the narrative, character details, and release timeline under wraps. Fans and industry watchers are eagerly awaiting further announcements about the new ‘Empire’-style drama on Amazon Prime Video.
