Khalifa Hits Streaming; Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Gold‑Smuggling Thriller Now on Prime Video

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s latest Malayalam action thriller, Khalifa, has crossed over from the big screen to the streaming arena. The film, which premiered in theatres on August 20, 2026 amid the Onam festival celebrations, is now available to stream from October 9, 2026 on a host of digital platforms.

Directed by Vysakh, the story follows Mambarakal Aamir Ali, a carefree shopkeeper from Koduvally in Kozhikode who falls in love with Fiza, marries her, and then is drawn into a world of gold smuggling that threatens his family’s safety. Aamir’s journey mirrors that of his grandfather, the legendary smuggler Mambarakal Ahmed Ali, known as Baba, as he climbs the ranks of the illicit trade.

Prithviraj leads the cast as Aamir Ali, with Neil Nitin Mukesh making his Malayalam debut in a supporting role. The film also features Malvika Sharma, Shammi Thilakan, and Indrans, while cameo appearances by Mohanlal, Tovino Thomas, and Soubin Shahir add star power. Jinu V. Abraham penned the screenplay and co‑produced the film with Suraj Kumar under the Jiinu Abraham Innovation banner.

Technical credits include cinematography by Jomon T. John, editing by Chaman Chacko, and music composed by Jakes Bejoy. Action sequences were choreographed by Yannick Ben, Chethan D'Souza, and action director Phoenix Prabhu.

After its theatrical run, Khalifa is now streaming on Prime Video, ManoramaMAX, Aha Video, Lionsgate Play, Simply South, and Starzplay, with additional availability on AP International South Cinema. Internationally, Simply South carries the film outside India, while Starzplay offers it in the MENA region. Viewers can enjoy the film in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
