Cinema VinesOn October 9, 2026, Amazon Prime Video announced that the Hindi action‑drama Awarapan 2 would debut exclusively on its global streaming platform. The film, directed by Vishesh Bhatt, brings back Emraan Hashmi in the role of Shivam Pandit, a character that first captivated audiences in the 2006 hit Awarapan, directed by Mohit Suri. The return of Shivam comes almost twenty years after the original, a film that left a lasting mark on a generation with its brooding protagonist, emotionally charged narrative, and memorable soundtrack.
Vishesh Bhatt’s sequel, now under the direction of Nitin Kakkar, expands the familiar universe while propelling Shivam into a new chapter. The story follows the former gangster as he mourns the loss of a loved one in a remote Rajasthani village, grappling with guilt and a desire for redemption. Yet his solitude is disrupted when he is drawn into Bangkok’s cartel war, forcing him back into the criminal underworld he had once abandoned. Amid violence, betrayal, and a chance at new love, Shivam must decide what he is willing to fight for and confront the choices that led him to this point.
The cast of Awarapan 2 includes Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Puran Gabbi, Vijayant Kohli, and Suvinder Vicky in pivotal roles, weaving romance, action, and drama against the backdrop of international crime. The film promises to blend the emotional intensity of Shivam’s journey with high‑octane action and the nostalgic musical sensibility that fans remember from the original.
Prime Video’s announcement marks the film’s exclusive global OTT premiere, making it accessible to audiences worldwide. The platform’s launch of the movie underscores its commitment to bringing high‑profile Bollywood releases to a digital audience, following the success of other Indian franchises on the service.
As the story unfolds, viewers can expect a mix of familiar themes from the first film and fresh twists that explore Shivam’s evolution from a haunted past to a man seeking purpose in a world that still demands his involvement.
