On the opening day of Navratri, the makers of the long‑anticipated epic Ramayana announced a fresh ensemble poster that sets the stage for a cinematic retelling of the ancient tale. The image showcases Ranbir Kapoor as the noble Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as the devoted Sita, Ravie Dubey as the loyal Lakshman, and Yash in the menacing role of Ravana, towering over the trio in a striking visual contrast that hints at the conflict to come.
In a social‑media post accompanied by the caption, “On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, we celebrate the beginning of a new era. Yeh Ram ke Yug ka Aarambh hai. 🏹 Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana Part 1: In cinemas WORLDWIDE, across all premium formats, from 5th November. Advance bookings open on Dussehra,” the production team confirmed that Part 1 of the two‑part saga will hit screens worldwide on 5 November 2026. Advance bookings are slated to open on the festival of Dussehra.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in partnership with Oscar‑winning visual‑effects house DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the film promises a high‑budget spectacle. The story will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam across India, with a second instalment slated for Diwali 2027.
In addition to the lead cast, the film will feature Sunny Deol as Hanuman, adding star power to the ensemble. Sony Pictures will handle global distribution outside India, while Dharma Productions will manage the Hindi‑speaking market. The picture will be available in IMAX and other premium formats, aiming to draw audiences into the epic’s grandeur.
With a release strategy that spans multiple languages and formats, Ramayana aims to bring one of the world’s most revered epics to the big screen, promising a blend of mythic storytelling and modern cinematic technology.
