Director Avinash Arun has confirmed that Ritvik Sahore will portray Aniket Nikam, the son of Rajkummar Rao’s character Ujjwal Nikam, in the upcoming biopic “Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam.” The film is slated to hit Indian theatres on October 16.
Arun revealed that the casting decision came after a recommendation from his casting director, Anmol Ahuja. “When I heard his name, it was like, YES!” the director said, adding that Sahore is an “honest, sensitive actor” whose dedication to his craft made him a perfect fit for the role. He praised the actor’s thoroughness and earnestness, noting that he had always worked with great talent throughout his career.
Sahore, who began as a child actor in movies such as “Ferrari Ki Sawaari” and “Dangal,” has since appeared in films and web series including “Flames,” “Indori Ishq,” “Campus Diaries,” and “Jamnapaar.” In “Prahaar,” he shares the screen with Rao, who plays the renowned special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. The film weaves the professional achievements of Nikam with the personal dynamics of his relationship with his son.
Known for directing “Killa” and “Three of Us,” Arun’s “Prahaar” aims to provide a deeper look into Nikam’s legal career and high‑profile cases. The release is expected to generate interest among audiences familiar with both the real‑life figure and the actors portraying him.
