Malayalam period action drama Pallichattambi will open on digital screens this month after a theatrical run that began on April 15, 2026. The film, directed by Dijo Jose Antony and penned by S. Suresh Babu, follows the life of Krishna Pillai, an orphan who finds himself embroiled in the political and religious upheavals of the 1950s Kerala‑Karnataka border region. The story unfolds as Krishna, who arrives in the village of Kaaniyar under the alias Pothan Christopher, forms a bond with Rebecca, a young woman determined to build a school on her land, while past events force him to confront growing challenges.
Starring Tovino Thomas as the titular Krishna Pillai and Kayadu Lohar as Rebecca, the cast also includes Shatru, Vijayaraghavan, Siddique, Baburaj, Nibraz Noushad, T. G. Ravi, Johny Antony, Sudheer Karamana, Alexander Prasanth, Midhun Venugopal, and Eldho Mathew. Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran makes a cameo appearance. The film’s production was handled by Noufal and Brijeesh under World Wide Films and C Qube Bros, with backing from CCC Brothers.
Technical credits feature Tijo Tomy on cinematography, Sreejith Sarang as editor, and Jakes Bejoy composing the background score and songs. Production designer Dileep Nath, costume designer Manjusha Radhakrishnan, makeup artist Rasheed Ahammed, stunt director Action Sandhosh, and sound design by Sync Cinema, with MR Rajakrishnan overseeing audiography, rounded out the crew.
Sony LIV announced that Pallichattambi will stream on its platform from July 24, 2026. The release will be available in Malayalam as well as in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, allowing the film to reach a broad multilingual audience. Fans who missed the theatrical run or wish to revisit the period drama will now be able to watch it from the comfort of their homes.
