Mumbai was shaken on Sunday evening, October 18, when a group of unknown gunmen opened fire on the car of Bollywood star Tiger Shroff in the Juhu suburb. The attack, which occurred around 7 pm near Pushpa Park, was allegedly carried out by assailants on a motorcycle who fired multiple rounds at Shroff’s BMW. The actor escaped the shooting unharmed, though the vehicle sustained damage and the driver was injured. Forensics teams collected empty shells and are combing through CCTV footage to piece together the sequence of events.
After the incident, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde rushed to Shroff’s home late at night to check on the actor’s condition. Footage released by the news agency ANI shows Shinde meeting Shroff, who was wearing dressings around his neck and arms. Shinde has not yet spoken to the media, but the state government has stated that the matter is being taken seriously as the police continue to investigate.
Police and the Crime Branch cordoned off the area around Pushpa Park, and investigators are pursuing all leads. An unverified claim of responsibility surfaced on social media, purportedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate, but authorities have not confirmed its authenticity. Senior police officials say they are examining every angle of the incident as the search for the attackers continues across the city.
While Shroff remains safe and has not suffered any gunshot injuries, the incident has heightened security concerns in the area. The Mumbai Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and have promised further updates as the probe into the shooting progresses.
