Batwara 1947 Team Embarks on 12-City Promotional Tour

The 2026 period drama Batwara 1947 is set to hit screens worldwide on August 14, the anniversary of India’s Partition, and its makers have rolled out a 12‑city promotional tour to build buzz ahead of the release. The campaign will see the film’s cast and crew travel to multiple locations across India, engaging with audiences and giving them a first look at the story that has already been teased through a motion poster, character posters and a series of trailers.

Director Rajkumar Santoshi, who won a National Award for his previous work, is teaming up once again with veteran actor Sunny Deol – a reunion that has gone almost 30 years in the making. The ensemble cast includes Shabana Azmi, Preity G. Zinta, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh, all of whom will be on hand to promote the film during the tour.

Behind the scenes, the project is backed by Aamir Khan Productions and produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit. The soundtrack, composed by the legendary A. R. Rahman with lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar, is expected to add another layer of appeal to the film’s historical narrative.

As the promotional push ramps up, fans can look forward to a series of events where the team will introduce the film’s premise, discuss its historical context, and interact with local audiences. The tour is part of a broader marketing strategy that has already included the release of a motion poster and character imagery, generating growing anticipation for the movie’s debut.
