Producer Vishal Rana is preparing for the upcoming release of Tu Hai Meri Kiran, a film featuring Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal. Following that, he is set to launch Gabru, a project that will star Sunny Deol in the lead role. The actor has a number of projects lined up, but it was during the success meet for his film Border 2 in February 2026 that he singled out Gabru as a standout.
In an exclusive interview, Rana confirmed that Gabru is slated for a 2027 release. He described the film as “a unique Sunny Deol movie” that will showcase the actor in a way audiences have never seen before. “It’s a film that is close to his heart and ours as well,” Rana said, adding that the project will touch viewers who dream big and serve as an ode to real‑life heroes.
Rana also revealed that Sunny’s family had watched the film together and agreed that it was a departure from the actor’s previous work. “We’re going to announce the date very soon,” he said. “Sunny sir’s next project, Soorya, is releasing next month in November, and after that we hope to make an announcement for Gabru.” He repeated Sunny’s own words, “Iss baar dhai kilo ka haath nahin, dhai kilo ka heart leke aaya hoon,” underscoring the emotional depth the film promises.
In addition to Gabru, Rana has another film in the pipeline titled Gulabi, starring Huma Qureshi. The producer described the project as a women‑empowering story about a female rickshaw driver, complete with twists and turns typical of his work. “It’s a film that needs the right window,” Rana said, noting the crowded release calendar and the importance of giving each movie space to breathe. He added that Gulabi will also release next year.
Rana also mentioned that he has been called after the Border 2 success meet, reflecting the buzz surrounding his upcoming releases. He emphasized that Tu Hai Meri Kiran is “our answer to Obsession” and that he chose not to remix Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic song “Darr” to avoid comparisons. The producer’s focus remains on delivering fresh, impactful stories that resonate with audiences.
