Cinema VinesMalayalam comedy‑fantasy film Dhoomakethu will soon find a new audience on Netflix, with the streaming platform launching the movie on October 23, 2026. Directed by Sudhi Maddison, Dhoomakethu follows Kuttan, a 35‑year‑old man played by Sajin Gopu, who is about to marry the beautiful Sharmila, portrayed by Nikhila Vimal. While the wedding plans are in full swing, Kuttan worries that others might doubt his suitability for the bride. The night of the ceremony takes an unexpected turn when a series of strange events forces Kuttan to relive the same day over and over again. With a comet appearing over Kerala after 3,000 years, the protagonist must decipher what is happening and try to alter his fate before the wedding night arrives again.
The ensemble cast includes Shine Tom Chacko, Sidharth Bharathan and Ganapathi S. Poduval, all of whom add depth to the time‑loop narrative. The screenplay, credited to Sonny and Manu, was crafted to blend humor with fantastical elements, creating a unique cinematic experience.
