Police deny Tiger Shroff gun plot hit Salman Khan; no other stars targeted

A police spokesperson clarified that the interrogation of four individuals arrested over a firing incident aimed at Tiger Shroff’s vehicle yielded no evidence that another Bollywood star was targeted. The statement came after rumors surfaced that Salman Khan had originally been the intended victim and that the accused had scouted the homes of other major actors, including Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Praveen Tripathi told ANI that the four accused were part of a weapon‑supply network, responsible only for procuring firearms, transporting them to Mumbai, and delivering them to the intended recipients. When asked whether any other celebrity had been targeted, Tripathi said, “Nothing of that sort emerged during our interrogation, as these individuals were merely part of the weapon supply network. Their knowledge was limited strictly to where to procure the weapons and where to deliver them….” The statement did not confirm whether Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar or Salman Khan were on the target list.

Reports from unnamed investigation sources claimed that Salman Khan was the initial target, but the plan was abandoned after the accused conducted a reconnaissance of his Galaxy Apartments residence and found the security too robust. The allegations further suggested that Tiger Shroff was then identified as a comparatively easier target. Other claims alleged that the suspects, while posing as ordinary visitors, surveyed locations linked to several Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar. These assertions are unconfirmed by Tripathi’s remarks.

According to Tripathi, a special team had arrested two women, Radha and Babita, and two men, Kunal and Sumit. Kunal, who had recently been released from jail on a separate case, allegedly travelled to Amritsar with Sumit to collect weapons under the instructions of Anil Pandit. He then used Radha and Babita to transport the weapons to Mumbai. The women were said to have delivered the arms to the intended recipients, but the police have not linked the operation to any specific celebrity beyond the initial firing incident involving Tiger Shroff.
