Prime Video India has broadened its streaming menu by adding Sony LIV as a paid add‑on, announced on October 21. Subscribers can now tap into Sony LIV’s extensive lineup of movies, original series, television shows and live sports without leaving the Prime Video interface. The new partnership offers two pricing options: a monthly plan for ₹399 and an annual plan for ₹1,499.
Through the add‑on, Prime Video users will gain access to more than 450 films and 300 shows that belong to Sony LIV’s catalog. The library includes popular originals such as the Scam franchise and Gullak, as well as feature films like Sitaare Zameen Par. Viewers will also find a wide range of entertainment from Sony Entertainment Television and Sony SAB, including long‑running programs such as Kaun Banega Crorepati, Indian Idol, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Pushpa Impossible. Reality shows such as KBC Season 18, Indian Idol Season 17 and Family Full House With Rohit Sharma will also be available.
Sports fans stand to benefit the most from the deal. Sony LIV’s live coverage portfolio—spanning bilateral India cricket, the UEFA Champions League, the French Open, the Commonwealth Games and UFC—will now be streamed directly through Prime Video. The announcement highlighted the upcoming India tour of New Zealand, which will feature Test matches, One Day Internationals and T20 Internationals starting on October 22.
The content will be accessible on a range of devices, including mobile phones, web browsers, Fire TV, smart TVs and other compatible living‑room platforms. With programming in Hindi, English, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Gujarati, the collaboration expands the multilingual entertainment options already available on Prime Video.
Gaurav Bhasin, Head of AVOD Business and Marketplace at Prime Video India, said the move would “give customers access to a wider selection of entertainment and sports content.” He added that the partnership “combines television programming and live sports with Prime Video’s existing catalogue,” and that the combined offering would deepen the breadth and choice of entertainment for the platform’s millions of users.
