Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi Kick Off Ramayana Promotions with Pratham Sankalp Event

In a grand opening for its promotional campaign, Nitesh Tiwari’s epic retelling of the Ramayana kicked off in Delhi on July 18 at the Bharat Mandapam. The event, dubbed Pratham Sankalp, brought together the film’s key players, including lead actors Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita, alongside co‑producer Namit Malhotra, director Tiwari, and supporting cast such as Arun Govil, Ravi Dubey, Shobana, Rakul Preet Singh, Kunal Kapoor, Ajinkya Deo and poet Kumar Vishwas.

Despite battling conjunctivitis—a condition that reportedly began with his daughter Raha—Kapoor attended the ceremony, reportedly wearing protective black glasses to safeguard his eyes. A source close to the actor confirmed the infection spread through close contact and noted that, true to his reputation for keeping commitments, Kapoor chose not to miss the event.

The evening featured a special performance by sitarist Rishab Rikhiram Sharma, who debuted his new composition “Rama Rama” for the film’s soundtrack, which is a collaborative effort between AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. Sharma’s appearance was teased a few hours before the show, and clips of his performance quickly circulated on social media, generating buzz among fans who could not attend in person.

Following the Delhi launch, the Ramayana team is set to continue its international promotion by heading to San Diego Comic‑Con on July 23. The film will have a dedicated presentation at the event, marking it as only the second Indian epic to appear at the world’s largest pop‑culture convention.

With the Pratham Sankalp event establishing the film’s promotional momentum, audiences can expect a series of trailers, global showcases and further updates on the star‑studded cast as the epic story of Rama and Sita moves closer to its release date.
