Music composer and singer Salim Merchant has acquired a commercial property in Mumbai’s Santacruz West for ₹12.85 crore, according to property registration documents accessed by CRE Matrix. The transaction, registered on 7 October 2026, involved Merchant and four other buyers, all of whom paid a total stamp duty of ₹77.10 lakh – a 6 % levy on the stated value.
Merchant holds a 50 % stake in the premises, while each of the remaining four purchasers holds 12.5 % of the property. The deal was executed with Shreeja Devcon Private Limited and covers the ground and first floors of the DLH Mangal Murti building. The combined carpet area totals 1,285 sq ft, with 575 sq ft on the ground floor and 710 sq ft on the first floor, and includes one car‑parking space.
At a purchase price of ₹12.85 crore, the property translates to roughly ₹1 lakh per square foot of carpet area. This transaction joins a growing list of high‑value deals involving celebrities in Mumbai’s premium neighbourhoods, where both commercial and residential real estate continues to see significant activity.
The registration documents confirm that the agreement was formally recorded on 7 October, cementing Merchant’s investment in one of the city’s sought‑after commercial hubs.
