Sudhir Mishra frowns at IndiGo after meds‑packed bag lost; airline vows quick delivery

National award‑winning director Sudhir Mishra took to X on October 28 to vent his frustration after IndiGo misplaced his luggage during a flight from Delhi to Dharamshala. The bag, which contained his medicines and other essential items, was reportedly left behind in Delhi, leaving the filmmaker stranded upon arrival in the Himalayan town.

Mishra’s post read: “I’ve come to Dharamshala for the next few days, flying @IndiGo6E from Delhi. Upon arrival, I was told my luggage had been left behind in Delhi. Now I’m told it’ll reach me via Chandigarh by evening. All my medicines and essentials are in that bag. Extremely disappointing and frustrating.” He was only informed of the mishap after reaching Dharamshala, and the airline later promised the bag would be sent through Chandigarh, expected to arrive that evening.

In response, IndiGo issued a public apology on X, stating it had arranged priority delivery of Mishra’s baggage. The airline’s statement acknowledged the inconvenience and confirmed that the luggage would be forwarded to the director as soon as possible.

Beyond the luggage incident, Mishra is currently working on a new film tentatively titled Gandhi and My Mother, featuring Manoj Bajpayee as Mahatma Gandhi and produced by Anubhav Sinha, with Waheeda Rehman also attached. The project is said to explore a lesser‑known 21‑day period around India’s independence, with further details pending.

While Mishra’s frustration over the lost bag highlights a common travel headache, the incident also underscores the importance of timely baggage handling for high‑profile passengers. The director’s public complaint may prompt IndiGo to review its luggage protocols, especially for flights carrying prominent figures.
