The film, directed by first‑time filmmaker Thamby, follows the chaotic life of Avarachan, a drinking father whose rowdy behaviour creates turmoil in the coastal village of Chellanam. His adult sons, Jaison and Jaimon, are forced to navigate the fallout of their father’s actions, while the story also explores the dynamics with Avarachan’s elder sister Eliyamma, a neighbour named Bincy, and other local characters.
Biju Menon stars as the titular Avarachan, with Sreenath Bhasi, Ganapathi, Grace Antony, Vinay Forrt and Johny Antony rounding out the principal cast. The screenplay, a collaboration between Thamby and Joseph Vijeesh, was produced by Listin Stephen under the Magic Frames banner, with Justin Stephen as co‑producer. Technical credits include cinematography by Sajith Purushan, music composed by Sanal Dev, and editing by Akash Joseph Varghese.
Additional crew members include art direction by Aji Kuttiani, costume design by Stephy Zaviour, makeup by Rasheed Ahammed, sound design by Sankaran A S and K. C. Sidharthan, and sound mixing by Vishnu Sujathan. Visual effects were handled by Promice Studios, with Joji D Parakal serving as colourist.
Fans who missed the film’s limited theatrical run can now enjoy the full family‑centric narrative from the comfort of their homes. The Netflix release offers a second chance to experience the blend of humor and drama that unfolds as Avarachan’s family grapples with everyday struggles and the repercussions of his behaviour.
