In a candid chat with film critic Komal Nahta, Bollywood music maestro Himesh Reshammiya confirmed his long‑awaited ambition to step behind the camera and direct his own feature film. The veteran composer, who has already made a mark as a singer and producer, said he will continue acting and is set on becoming a “superstar actor” in addition to his new role as a director.
Reshammiya revealed that he already has several scripts ready for his directorial debut, describing them as “blockbusters” and stating that the music he plans to create for the film will generate Rs. 100 crore on its first day of release. He added that his vision for the project is clear, with a focus on scale, emotional connection and memorable songs.
When asked whether his first film would be a musical romance, the singer‑turned‑composer answered that he has two or three ideas in mind and that the scripts are prepared. He is confident that the music alone will draw massive audiences, echoing his past success in the music industry.
Reshammiya also addressed his unfulfilled wish to become a superstar actor, saying, “I want to become a superstar actor. Mujhe banna hi hai aur banoonga bhi. Yeh toh hona hi hai, aaj nahin toh kal.” He compared his career trajectory to that of Amitabh Bachchan, noting that Bachchan’s thirteenth film was a hit and that he has completed twelve films himself, hinting that his thirteenth will be a blockbuster.
In closing, Reshammiya assured fans that they will soon see a film credited “Directed by Himesh Reshammiya,” and that his directorial venture will blend his signature musical flair with a compelling cinematic experience.
