Sony LIV unveils Scam 2010; Hansal Mehta directs new chapter

Sony LIV has released the first look for Scam 2010, the new chapter in the popular Scam series that began with the 2020 hit Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. The upcoming drama, directed by Hansal Mehta and produced in collaboration with Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment, is slated to debut exclusively on Sony LIV in January 2027.

In the new installment, Siddharth Bodke takes centre stage as the lead character. The actor explained that his preparation involved delving into the real person behind the public persona, saying, “Playing the lead in Scam 2010 has honestly been one of the most challenging and special experiences of my career. What interested me the most was understanding the man behind the image… I wanted to explore who he really was, what drove him, and why he made the choices he did.”

Bodke added that he spent a great deal of time inhabiting the character, a process that taught him both as an actor and as a person. He praised working with Mehta, describing the collaboration as an “incredible learning experience and a lot of fun.” He also noted the weight of carrying forward the strong legacy of the Scam franchise, expressing excitement that audiences would soon see what the team has created.

Mehta, who helmed the original Scam 1992, returns to the series to guide its next narrative arc. The production is a joint effort between Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment, with Deepak Segal listed among the key contributors. The series is expected to explore fresh financial intrigue set in the 2010s, building on the franchise’s reputation for sharp, investigative storytelling.

Fans of the franchise can look forward to a new season that promises to blend meticulous research with engaging drama, all set for a January 2027 launch on Sony LIV. The platform’s commitment to high‑quality original content continues with this high‑profile addition to its lineup.
