Cinema VinesAhan Shetty’s upcoming action‑romance, Sanki, directed by Tinu Suresh Desai—known for Rustom and Mission Raniganj—has been generating buzz since its announcement. The film now gains extra star power with the addition of Medha Rana as Shetty’s love interest, following her recent appearance opposite Varun Dhawan in Border 2 (2026).
According to a source close to the project, Rana chose Sanki after the success of Border 2 and felt the script was the “big one” she had been waiting for. She has spent the last two months in intensive preparation, attending workshops to fully inhabit her character’s blend of romance, intensity and action.
The pair will be shooting in Bhopal, where the film has already gone on floors. The source added that the chemistry between Shetty and Rana, who were both part of Border 2 albeit with different co‑stars, will translate into “fireworks on screen” when they finally share scenes together.
Sanki is slated for a 2027 release and is already one of the most anticipated action dramas of the year. Its first look is expected to drop in the coming days. Production is handled by We The People, Roaring River Productions and Pals & Peers Entertainment.
The film’s cast also includes a reunion of Ahan Shetty with another Border 2 co‑star, Anya Singh, who is set to appear in 1920: Cold Winter. This connection further fuels excitement around the project.
