The third film in the OMG franchise, tentatively titled Oh My Goddess, has hit a new snag after director Amit Rai and the producers decided to part ways over creative differences, according to an exclusive report by Pinkvilla.
Sources close to the project say the disagreements were not limited to the screenplay. They also involved the choice of the lead actor and the proposed release strategy, leading to a prolonged impasse that ultimately forced the team to move on without Rai.
Earlier, the film had generated buzz when reports surfaced that Rani Mukerji might headline the project. Those rumors were later denied, with the actress reportedly opting out after clashes with Rai over the film’s direction. Since then, the makers have been reshuffling the script and exploring new casting options.
With Rai no longer attached, the producers are reportedly looking for a new director to steer the project. This change could also bring revisions to the cast and the release plan as the franchise seeks to continue its momentum.
So far, neither Amit Rai nor the production house has issued an official statement regarding the split. Fans of the series will have to wait for further updates on who will take the helm of the upcoming installment.
