Geeta Tandon slams India Ke Top 1% crew; claims nine‑hour wait with son

Bollywood stuntwoman Geeta Tandon has publicly accused the production team of the Star Plus reality show India Ke Top 1% of mistreating her and her son during a nearly nine‑hour wait on set. In a detailed post on social media, Tandon, who has spent over twenty years as a body double and stunt director, said she was invited to appear on the show as a guest but was left waiting from 12:30 p.m. until 9:15 p.m. with little communication from the crew.

According to Tandon, the production manager, Jaydeep, dismissed her concerns with a curt reply, “If they want to leave, let them leave. But they can’t leave without signing.” She added that she had even called her son back from Goa to join her on the set, sacrificing a day’s work for the appearance, which she had agreed to do without pay in hopes of gaining visibility.

The stuntwoman expressed frustration that her experience highlighted a broader issue of disrespect for behind‑the‑scenes talent. She wrote, “20 years in this industry. And yesterday, I was reminded how little respect people working behind the scenes are sometimes given.” Tandon also addressed host Anil Kapoor, choreographer Farah Khan, and the production company Banijay Asia, calling out the lack of basic courtesy and respect for their time.

She detailed that she and her son were forced to sit in a tent without clear updates on when they would be called. After confronting the crew, Tandon claimed the response was unacceptable, leading her to leave the set at 9:15 p.m. after nearly nine hours of waiting. She emphasized that the appearance was unpaid and that at a minimum, respectful treatment was expected.

While the show, which features around 100 contestants vying for up to Rs. 1 crore, airs on Star Plus and streams on JioHotstar, Tandon’s complaint underscores ongoing concerns about the treatment of stunt professionals and other crew members in the Indian entertainment industry.
