Suriya’s upcoming Tamil action‑comedy Scene has already eclipsed his previous record in Kerala, racking up more than ₹2.80 crore in opening‑day advance bookings across 1,800 shows as of 3 PM on Thursday, November 5. The figure, released by industry tracker AB George via an X post, places the film ahead of Suriya’s earlier hit Kanguva, which had drawn roughly ₹2.62 crore in Kerala pre‑sales.
With the movie scheduled to hit theatres on Friday, November 6, the advance‑booking numbers are expected to climb further. George projected that the total could surpass ₹3.25 crore before the film’s theatrical release, though the final tally will depend on sales in the remaining hours of the pre‑sales window.
Directed by Jithu Madhavan in his Tamil debut, Scene brings together a star‑studded cast that includes Suriya, Nazriya Nazim and Naslen in leading roles, with Anandraj, Lal and Raj Priyan in supporting parts. The film also marks Tamil debuts for Naslen and composer Sushin Shyam.
Suriya and Jyothika co‑produce the venture under Zhagaram Studios and 2D Entertainment, with Jaishree Damodaran as co‑producer. The technical crew features cinematographer Vineeth Augustian, editor Ajmal Sabu, and audiographer Vishnu Govind, while Ashwini Kale handles production design and Chethan D’Souza choreographs the action sequences.
Other key contributors include art director A. Rajesh, costume designer Mashar Hamsa, makeup artist Ronex Xavier, dialogue writer Dravid Selvam, co‑director Arun Appukuttan, visual effects supervisor Hariharasuthan, and colour‑grading specialist Ranga. The film’s soundtrack is composed by Sushin Shyam.
As Kerala’s pre‑sales numbers continue to rise, the industry and fans alike are watching closely to see how Scene will perform on its opening day once it opens across the state on November 6.
