On November 7, Los Angeles hosted the 15th LACMA Art + Film Gala, an annual charity event that blends cinema, visual arts and high fashion. The event, presented by Gucci, was co‑chaired by Hollywood icon Leonardo DiCaprio and entrepreneur Eva Chow, and it celebrated the achievements of filmmakers and artists, notably honoring Denis Villeneuve for his work on Dune and visual artist Vija Celmins for her contributions to the visual arts.
In a historic moment for Indian representation at the gathering, Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan made his first appearance at the gala. The actor, who has become a global symbol of Indian cinema, was the first mainstream Indian performer to attend the event. Roshan was hosted by Kavita Gupta, an Indian‑origin producer and venture capitalist who sits on the International Emmy Board and has long championed Indian talent on international stages.
For the black‑tie affair, Roshan chose a custom tuxedo from Italian luxury house Brunello Cucinelli, opting for a classic, understated look that fit the evening’s formal tone. His presence added a new dimension to the gala’s diverse lineup, which also featured Hollywood luminaries such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Timothée Chalamet, Nicole Kidman, Andrew Garfield, Anya Taylor‑Joy, Rufus Sewell, Ashley Park, Jessica Williams and Monica Barbaro.
The event also attracted high‑profile entrepreneurs and fashion personalities, including Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, underscoring the gala’s role as a convergence point for entertainment, business and philanthropy. With its blend of artistic celebration and charitable purpose, the LACMA Art + Film Gala continues to be a key platform for cross‑cultural dialogue and recognition in the arts.
