After the 2024 film Committee Kurrollu secured two National Film Awards—Best Telugu Film and Best Make‑up for P. Ravi Kumar—Niharika Konidela, the actor‑producer and niece of Chiranjeevi, spoke candidly about her feelings of belonging to the Konidela “Mega” family. The celebration took place in Hyderabad on a Sunday evening, where the cast and crew gathered to mark the historic achievement.
During the event, Niharika admitted that she had never felt she “deserved” a place in the Mega family until the film’s triumph. “I’ve never felt this fulfilled in 32 years of my life,” she said. “There was no looking back after I first heard the Committee Kurrollu story. I feel like it has the biggest heart. If this is what it means to make a good film, I don’t think I’ll ever leave the film industry.”
She also revealed that director Yadu Vamsi had convinced her that the movie was worthy of a National Award, even though it was not her initial dream. “Vamsi garu kept telling me this is a National Award‑worthy cinema, but that was never my dream. I never had the dream to make a National Award‑winning film. But once we began shooting, I added it to my vision board. I’m happy that my manifestation worked like this,” Niharika explained.
Reflecting on her family’s legacy, she highlighted her father Naga Babu’s three National Awards for the 1988 film Rudraveena and praised the contributions of her uncles, Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. “Look at my family, be it Chiranjeevi garu or Pawan Kalyan garu; everyone has contributed to the family and to the industry with their careers,” she added.
Since her on‑screen debut in 2016’s Oka Manasu, Niharika has never experienced such a moment. “I’ve never experienced that in the last ten years. Now, I feel very, very proud that, thank you, Committee Kurrollu, I also feel like I’m deserving to be in the Mega family,” she said, her voice emotional.
Produced by Niharika’s Pink Elephant Pictures, launched in 2015, Committee Kurrollu follows her recent work in the 2025 Tamil film Madraskaaran and her role as a judge‑producer on Zee Telugu’s Aata. While she holds a Master’s in Journalism and has spent over a decade in print and digital media, Niharika remains a movie buff first and a chief content producer second, a passion that has guided her career in cinema.
