Vijay Transitions from Actor to CM; Fans Thrilled to See Him 'One Last Time'

A fresh teaser for H Vinoth’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan dropped on Monday, showcasing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay in his signature action‑packed style. The 18‑second clip, released by KVN Productions, opens with Vijay firing a gun and cutting through adversaries, before switching between a police uniform, a prison suit and a white shirt with a dark jacket—his current CM attire. The teaser, posted on social media with the caption “Raavanamavan daa for a reason (fire emoji) #JanaNayaganFromJuly23,” was met with excitement from fans who celebrated seeing the actor‑politician “one last time” on screen.

Vijay’s fans flooded the internet with comments, ranging from “All set for one last dance” to “Actor Vijay To CM Vijay Transition Cut.” Many shared GIFs of the brief moment in the teaser when Vijay transitions from his prison outfit to his CM look, while others praised the film’s potential to break records and noted that “Vijay's entry alone worth the price of admission.” Ticket sales for the July 23 release are already underway across India and overseas.

Directed by H Vinoth and produced by K Venkata Narayana under KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain and Priyamani. The film is a partial remake of the 2023 Telugu hit Bhagavanth Kesari and was intended to be Vijay’s final cinematic appearance before fully stepping into politics.

The film’s release has faced hurdles: initially slated for Pongal 2024, it was postponed after a CBFC delay when a committee member lodged a complaint, sending it to the revising committee. Court rulings offered no relief, and the film finally received an A certification in July. An HD print leaked online in April, leading to several arrests. Despite these setbacks, the film’s premiere is set for July 23, and its box‑office performance remains to be seen.

While the article also briefly mentions Neeshita Nyayapati, a journalist with a Master’s in Journalism and experience at The Times of India and Reader’s Digest, it notes her lifelong love for movies and her role as Chief Content Producer. However, the focus remains on Vijay’s cinematic exit and the highly anticipated release of Jana Nayagan.
