Gatta Kusthi 2, the Tamil sports‑romantic comedy‑drama starring Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi, has been making headlines at the box office after its release on 3 July 2026. The sequel, written and directed by Chella Ayyavu and produced by Ishari K. Ganesh, Vishnu Vishal and Ishan Saksena under Vels Film International, Vishnu Vishal Studioz and IVY Entertainment, has now crossed the ₹40 crore mark worldwide, with the second weekend giving it a notable lift.

According to Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated ₹3.20 crore net in India on its ninth day, a jump from the ₹1.65 crore it collected on the opening Friday of the second week. The cumulative India net tally reached ₹26.95 crore after nine days, while the India gross climbed to ₹30.94 crore. Overseas collections added another ₹1 crore on day nine, bringing the international total to ₹7.25 crore and pushing the worldwide gross to ₹38.19 crore.

Gatta Kusthi 2 opened with a modest ₹2.70 crore on its first Friday, but the opening weekend saw a steady rise: ₹4.95 crore on Saturday and ₹6.20 crore on Sunday, giving the film a strong start. Weekdays saw a dip, with daily earnings ranging between ₹1.75 crore and ₹2.35 crore, and the first week’s India net total settled at ₹22.10 crore. The second week’s Friday collection of ₹1.65 crore was followed by a surge to ₹3.20 crore on Saturday, reflecting increased footfall.

The plot follows a stay‑at‑home husband whose family commitments are tested by misunderstandings and social expectations, weaving together family drama, romance, comedy and sports. The cast is bolstered by Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Karunas, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat, Karunakaran, Zara and Mokksha in key roles. Music is composed by Sean Roldan, cinematography by K.M. Bhaskaran and editing by Barath Vikraman.

With its second weekend boost, Gatta Kusthi 2 is on track to surpass the ₹40 crore threshold, marking a successful run for the franchise and affirming its appeal across domestic and international audiences.
