Ramayana to Release on 50,000 Screens; Historic Global Rollout

Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming epic, Ramayana, is set to make history with an unprecedented international release, slated to hit 50,000 screens across the globe. The film’s makers revealed an English lip‑synced trailer, signalling a clear intent to appeal to audiences beyond the traditional Indian diaspora.

According to the latest announcement, the two‑part saga will debut in theatres worldwide on November 6, 2026, aligning with Diwali celebrations, with the second instalment scheduled for Diwali 2027. Sony Pictures has already been named the international distributor, a partnership that underscores the film’s ambition to become a global cinematic event.

The scale of the overseas rollout is described as “unprecedented for an Indian film,” and is expected to bring the mythological story to a broad, multi‑territory audience simultaneously. The release strategy positions Ramayana among the largest international footprints ever planned for an Indian production.

Produced by Namit Malhotra and directed by Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, with Monster Mind Creations and Prime Focus handling production and post‑production respectively. The English trailer offers international viewers a glimpse of the film’s ambitious adaptation, while the partnership with Sony Pictures highlights the project’s global reach.

With this ambitious rollout, the makers aim to redefine the reach of Indian epics, turning Ramayana into a worldwide cinematic phenomenon that transcends traditional market boundaries.
