Shreya Kalra, who lifted the trophy for Lock Upp Season 2 on Wednesday, has made it clear that she will not be joining Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 20 as a contestant. The HTon Google content creator and actor explained that the mental toll of her stint in Lock Upp was too exhausting for another reality show in the same format.
In a post on her Instagram channel, Clock It With Shreya, Kalra wrote, “Friends, for those asking me whether I will be going on Bigg Boss, I have just come out of a madhouse. I am not planning to do any reality show as a contestant right now because it was mentally exhausting and very taxing. So no Bigg Boss for me, but if there's an opportunity to host, mentor, or become a gang leader, then I'll definitely be excited. It’ll be fun if something like this happens. But contestant? No bro, too much to take in.”
Kalra’s journey in Lock Upp Season 2 saw her evolve from the show’s villain to its ultimate winner. From day one she fought with almost every housemate, forming only two friendships—one of which she later evicted, and the other, Shilpa Shinde, who finished fourth. Her strong performances earned her praise from the hosts for “carrying the game on her shoulders” and for eliciting strong reactions from other contestants. She walked away with the trophy and ₹1 crore in prize money.
While the official lineup for Bigg Boss 20 has not yet been released, rumours have floated names such as Nia Sharma, Arjun Bijlani, Karan Patel, and Jannat Zubair. The show’s teaser, which premiered on September 6 on JioHotstar and Colors, hints at a unique theme, with Salman Khan entering on a horse and saying, “What happened in Karan Arjun will now happen in Bigg Boss.”
Kalra’s decision to skip another reality show as a contestant comes after a demanding season of Lock Upp, and she remains open to roles behind the camera. “If there’s an opportunity to host, mentor, or become a gang leader, then I’ll definitely be excited,” she added, signalling that while she will not be a contestant, she may still find a place in the reality‑show arena in a different capacity.
