Salman Khan announces India release date of 7 Dogs; starring alongside Sanjay Dutt

Salman Khan has officially announced that the international action thriller 7 Dogs will open in Indian cinemas on 21 August 2026. The film, which has already been generating buzz across Arab markets with its high‑octane stunts, will now be available to Indian audiences. In a recent Instagram story posted on 10 August, the star revealed the new trailer cut for India and added a Hindi dub of the Egyptian leads, Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz, at the end.

The movie features special appearances by Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, alongside Italian actress Monica Bellucci. The trio’s cameo is a major draw for Indian viewers, who are eager to see the Bollywood icon share the screen with international stars.

Directed by the duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah—known for Bad Boys for Life and Bad Boys: Ride or Die, and who also worked on Marvel’s Ms. Marvel—7 Dogs is positioned as a significant action project within their expanding global filmography.

The production is notable for its scale and budget. GQ Middle East reports a cost of nearly $40 million, making it one of the most expensive films produced in the Arab world. Filming took place largely at Al‑Hosn Big Time Studios in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a strong emphasis on practical stunts, real explosions, and large‑scale action sequences.

In fact, the film has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest film stunt explosion, with a blast equivalent to 170.7 tonnes of TNT—surpassing the previous record held by James Bond titles Spectre and No Time to Die.

The plot follows International Interpol agent Khalid Al‑Azzazi as he hunts Ghali Abu Dawood, a key figure in the crime syndicate nicknamed 7 Dogs. A year later, the syndicate resurfaces in the Middle East dealing a new lethal drug called Pink Lady, forcing Khalid to collaborate with the only person who knows the syndicate’s inner workings. Their covert operation takes them through several global cities.

Looking ahead, Salman Khan is set to star in Vamshi Paidipally’s action thriller tentatively titled SVC63, marking his first on‑screen partnership with South Indian star Nayanthara. Produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film is slated for an Eid 2027 release. Khan will also return to hosting duties with a new season of Bigg Boss 20, starting 6 September.
