Amitabh Bachchan, the 83‑year‑old titan of Indian cinema, has once again reminded fans of his relentless work ethic. In a recent Tumblr post, the veteran actor confessed to working 24‑hour shifts, stretching from 7 a.m. one day to almost 7 a.m. the next, at the cost of sleep, meals and personal time. He apologized for the “weird numbering and the missed blogs,” explaining that the intensity of his schedule left him little room to connect with followers.
Despite the exhausting routine, Bachchan announced a brief break as the 18th season of “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (KBC) with Sony is set to launch. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to return to his usual regularity once he reorganises his system. “I shall be with you in the regularity as before,” he wrote, adding that he would pray for the show’s success.
The actor has long spoken about the importance of a steady work schedule. Earlier this year he noted that a day without work feels “disturbing” and that a consistent routine is essential for habit formation. Bachchan’s dedication extends to his film work as well; he recently starred as Ashwatthama in the sci‑fi blockbuster “Kalki 2898 AD,” which grossed over ₹1,000 crore worldwide and has already secured a sequel.
Season 18 of KBC, themed “Sochna Padega,” will premiere on Monday, August 10, at 9 p.m. on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV, with weekday episodes airing Monday through Friday. Bachchan’s return as host is highly anticipated, and his commitment to both television and film projects underscores why he remains a pillar of the industry.
