DC Movie Box Office; Declines on Monday

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Tamil romantic‑action film DC, which hit theatres worldwide on August 7, 2026, has seen a sharp drop in earnings on its first Monday after a strong opening weekend. According to Sacnilk, the movie’s India net collection on Day 4 fell to ₹5.70 crore, a 40.3 % decline from the ₹9.55 crore it earned on Sunday. The film has now accumulated roughly ₹26.65 crore in India net and a total India gross of about ₹30.65 crore after four days.

Globally, DC brought in an estimated ₹1.50 crore overseas on Day 4, pushing its cumulative overseas gross to around ₹13.25 crore. Combined with the domestic haul, the worldwide gross reached an estimated ₹43.90 crore by the end of the fourth day.

The opening day of the film saw an India net take of ₹4.40 crore, which climbed to ₹7 crore on Saturday and peaked at ₹9.55 crore on Sunday. Although the Monday figure of ₹5.70 crore was lower than the previous day, it still surpassed the opening‑day earnings.

Breaking down the domestic revenue, the Tamil version of DC contributed about ₹4 crore, the Telugu version added roughly ₹1.50 crore, and the Hindi version managed around ₹0.20 crore, according to Sacnilk’s tracking.

DC follows the story of Devadas and his companions, who become embroiled in protecting an innocent family victimised by police brutality. Their journey pits them against a determined officer while exploring themes of justice, redemption, and unexpected relationships.

The film is directed and written by Arun Matheswaran, with dialogues by Matheswaran and Franklin Jacob. Anirudh Ravichander composed the score, Mukesh G handled cinematography, and Prasanna GK (credited as G K Prasanna) edited the picture. It stars Lokesh Kanagaraj in his first leading role, alongside Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy. Produced by Sun Pictures under the banner of Kalanithi Maran, DC is currently in its Day 5, Tuesday, with collections still being monitored.
