DC Movie Box Office; Nears ₹60 Cr Worldwide

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s debut as a lead in the Tamil romantic‑action film DC has pushed the picture closer to the ₹60 crore worldwide mark. The film, released on August 7, 2026, earned an estimated ₹5.00 crore net in India on Day 6 (Wednesday, August 12) from 4,715 shows, according to box‑office tracking site Sacnilk. This represents a 9.9% drop from the ₹5.55 crore net collected on Day 5.

After six days at the box office, DC has accumulated a cumulative India net of ₹37.50 crore and an India gross of about ₹43.12 crore. Overseas earnings have added another ₹1 crore on Day 6, bringing the overseas gross to ₹15.50 crore. The combined domestic and overseas figures give the film a worldwide gross of ₹58.62 crore after six days, just shy of the ₹60 crore threshold as it enters the final day of its opening week.

The film’s first‑week performance has seen daily collections rise and fall rather than follow a steady trend. It opened with ₹4.40 crore net on Friday, climbed to ₹7 crore on Saturday, and peaked on Sunday with ₹9.55 crore. The weekend surge was followed by a moderation: Monday brought ₹6 crore, Tuesday settled at ₹5.55 crore, and Wednesday’s ₹5 crore figure marks another decline, though still above the opening‑day haul.

DC is a story written and directed by Arun Matheswaran and produced by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures. It stars Lokesh Kanagaraj, Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, with music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Mukesh G, and editing by G. K. Prasanna. The screenplay was co‑written by Arun Ranjan, with dialogues by Matheswaran and Franklin Jacob. The film’s art direction, stunts, costume design and VFX were handled by Kannan S, PC Stunts, Arun Matheswaran and Praveen D respectively, while publicity design was credited to Kabilan Chelliah.

The plot follows Devadas, an outcast who becomes embroiled in protecting an innocent family amid police brutality, and later finds himself in a conflict that tests justice, redemption and unexpected relationships. With Day 7 underway, the next box‑office update will determine whether DC maintains its current weekday level and how it finishes its opening week.
