Jr NTR, the popular Tollywood actor, has been discharged from KIMS Hospitals in Secunderabad after a successful arthroscopic shoulder surgery. The operation, performed on Wednesday, addressed a shoulder injury the star sustained while filming Prashanth Neel’s upcoming film Dragon. Hospital officials announced the discharge on Thursday, noting that the actor is now set to begin a structured rehabilitation programme under medical supervision to expedite a full recovery.
During a photo session with the hospital’s medical team, Jr NTR was seen wearing a brace on his right shoulder and giving a thumbs‑up with his left hand. Hospital spokespersons posted the image on X (formerly Twitter) and highlighted the surgeons involved: Dr. R. A. Purnachandra Tejaswi and Dr. Nithin Bejjanki. They added that the chief medical director, Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao, wished the actor a speedy and complete recovery, and that the team anticipates a 2‑to‑3‑month recovery period.
In a heartfelt message to his fans, Jr NTR expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and prayers. He wrote, “I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and prayers from all of you. The surgery was successful and I’m doing well. My heartfelt gratitude to the amazing team of doctors at KIMS.” He also thanked friends, family and supporters, saying their encouragement gives him strength every day and that he hopes to return to the set soon.
The injury occurred during an action sequence for Dragon, a film that also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Anil Kapoor and Biju Menon, among others. Jr NTR’s uncle, Nandamuri Balakrishna, was recently injured on a different set, prompting the actor to wish him a speedy recovery. Jr NTR’s next projects include Koratala Siva’s Devara and Ayan Mukerji’s War 2, but his focus remains on a swift return to the camera after the surgery.
