Cocktail 2 OTT release; now streaming on Netflix

After a theatrical run that began on 19 June 2026, the romantic drama Cocktail 2 is now available to stream on Netflix, with the new platform launching the film on 14 August. The film, which stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, follows the love story of Kapoor and Mandanna’s characters, a young couple who question marriage while on a vacation in Sicily. Their trip takes an unexpected turn when they meet Sanon’s character, Ally, a friend of Diya’s, and the trio’s carefree holiday soon turns into a test of trust, love and commitment.

Directed by Homi Adajania, the movie is the spiritual successor to his 2012 hit Cocktail and carries a similar glossy aesthetic. Despite its visual appeal, the film was met with largely negative reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 23% approval rating and a weighted score of 5 out of 10, citing a lack of depth, a slow pace and underdeveloped female characters. A review in HT described the film as having “gloss, glamour, but not the emotional punch,” and noted that some “drinks are best served once.”

Even with the criticism, Cocktail 2 proved to be a box‑office hit. It opened at ₹13 crore net in India and amassed ₹47 crore domestically over its opening weekend. By the end of its theatrical run, the film had crossed ₹100 crore in India and earned an additional $3.7 million overseas, bringing its worldwide total to ₹147 crore. As of the day it launched on Netflix, the film ranked as the sixth‑highest‑grossing Hindi movie of 2026.

Netflix’s promotional post for the release read, “Two’s a couple, and three’s a Cocktail. You’ve got a date. Watch Cocktail 2, out 14 August on Netflix.” The announcement was accompanied by a film poster and was shared on the streaming service’s social media channels, inviting viewers to experience the romantic drama at home.
