Arun Matheswaran’s Tamil romantic‑action film DC, starring Lokesh Kanagaraj, Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, has wrapped up its first week in theatres, inching closer to the ₹65‑crore worldwide threshold. The film opened on August 7, 2026, and by Thursday, August 13—its seventh day—had earned an estimated ₹3.90 crore net in India across 4,611 shows, according to box‑office tracker Sacnilk. This figure represents a 25.7 % drop from the ₹5.25 crore net collected on Day 6.
Adding the latest earnings, DC now stands at ₹41.65 crore net in India, with a gross of ₹47.88 crore. Overseas receipts climbed to ₹16.50 crore, bringing the global total to approximately ₹64.38 crore. The Tamil version remains the strongest contributor, pulling in ₹2.70 crore from 2,231 screens at 28 % occupancy. Telugu and Hindi versions added ₹1.00 crore and ₹0.20 crore respectively, from 1,214 and 1,166 screens with occupancies of 22 % and 8 %.
During its opening weekend, the film posted ₹7 crore on Saturday and ₹9.55 crore on Sunday, before tapering to ₹6 crore on Monday, ₹5.55 crore on Tuesday and ₹5.25 crore on Wednesday. The decline to ₹3.90 crore on Thursday signals a noticeable dip, but Friday’s showings will indicate whether the film can regain momentum.
Directed by Matheswaran and produced by Sun Pictures, DC follows protagonist Devadas and his companions as they shield an innocent family from police brutality, confronting a ruthless cop while navigating themes of justice, redemption and unexpected bonds. Anirudh Ravichander scores the film, with Mukesh G handling cinematography and Prasanna GK editing.
