In a surprising move that highlights the lucrative side of celebrity real estate, Bollywood star Ajay Devgn and his mother Veena Devgn have entered into a five‑year lease for their 7,802.75‑square‑foot bungalow in Mumbai’s upscale Juhu neighbourhood. The lease, registered on August 10, 2026, is set to bring in a total of ₹10.61 crore in rent, according to property registration documents accessed by Zapkey.
The Juhu property, located at Kapole CHS Ltd, N S Road No. 11, JVPD Scheme, opposite Daftary Nursing Home, has been leased to Florian Hurel Salons Private Limited. The agreement stipulates a monthly rent of ₹16 lakh for the first year, with a 5% annual increase thereafter, rising to ₹16.8 lakh in year two, ₹17.64 lakh in year three, ₹18.52 lakh in year four, and ₹19.45 lakh in year five. A security deposit of ₹48 lakh accompanies the lease, while stamp duty and registration fees were paid at ₹2.71 lakh and ₹1,000 respectively.
Ajay Devgn, whose full name is Vishal Veery Devgn, and Veena Devgn are listed as the lessors, with Mohnish Shashikant Dhavale acting on their behalf via a power of attorney. The lessee, Florian Hurel Salons Private Limited, is represented by authorized signatory Zarir Furshostre Meherji. The actor could not be reached for comment on the transaction.
Earlier in 2021, Devgn had taken a loan against the same property, which he purchased for ₹47.5 crore on December 29, 2020, and secured an ₹18.75 crore loan on April 27, 2021. He paid ₹2.37 crore in stamp duty for that purchase, and the property was transferred through a transfer deed rather than a sale deed.
Juhu remains one of Mumbai’s most sought‑after residential areas, known for its luxury homes, celebrity residents, and premium lifestyle amenities. The neighbourhood’s strong connectivity to business districts and its established social infrastructure have kept property values high, making this lease a notable example of the area’s real‑estate dynamics.
Ajay Devgn’s career, which began with the 1991 film Phool Aur Kaante, has spanned decades and includes acclaimed titles such as Dilwale, Zakhm, Company, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Omkara, Singham, and Drishyam. He has earned multiple National Film Awards for Best Actor and has also made his mark as a filmmaker and producer.
