At Disney’s biennial D23 fan event in Anaheim, California, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige unveiled a star‑studded cast for the upcoming “X‑Men” film, slated for a May 2028 release. The lineup includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Adam Driver as Nathaniel Milbury, better known as Mr. Sinister.
In addition to the “X‑Men” announcement, Disney revealed new details about “Frozen 3.” The sequel will follow Anna as she prepares for her wedding and is set to hit cinemas in November next year. A first‑look clip introduced a mysterious female antagonist whose identity and voice actor have not yet been disclosed. Voice actors Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel performed a new rendition of “Frozen Heart,” while Josh Gad, who voices Olaf, debuted a fresh song titled “Ooooh, Samantha.”
The convention also showcased early footage of “Star Wars: Starfighter,” starring Ryan Gosling, and confirmed his involvement in Disney’s upcoming Marvel Studios project “Ghost Rider.” A new Disney miniseries, “VisionQuest,” based on the Marvel comic character Vision, was announced with a premiere date of October 14. The series, created by Terry Matalas, will feature Paul Bettany reprising his role from “WandaVision” alongside James Spader, who returns as Ultron.
Pixar’s chief creative officer Pete Docter announced that “Incredibles 3” will arrive in summer 2028, bringing the superhero family together to confront a formidable new foe. He added that the plot will involve the kids “sneaking out at night to protect the city.” Docter also revealed plans for “Coco 2,” set several years after the 2017 film, where Miguel is now a teenager. The sequel, scheduled for a November 2029 release, will see antagonist Ernesto de la Cruz, voiced by Benjamin Bratt, seeking revenge by dragging Miguel back to the Land of the Dead.
Docter mentioned an animated series based on the “Kingdom Hearts” video game franchise is in development, and the fourth installment of the Disney‑Square Enix collaboration will feature a “Coco” world. Footage from the convention showed the main character, Sora, exploring this animated setting.
